This Doctor’s Favourite Daily Beauty Beverage

Nothing gets me more excited than sharing all of my favourite tips and tricks to help you maximize your health and natural beauty. Lately, I’ve been jazzing up my daily cup of coffee with these beauty-boosting super foods and I’ve already noticed a substantial difference in the look and feel of my skin. The best part of this daily beauty practice is how easy it is! I already love starting my day with a cup of organic coffee, and this combination of supplements blends seamlessly into a hot cup of joe; all you taste is creamy, delicious coffee.

To start, coffee on it’s own is already a powerful superfood. It contains an abundance of polyphenols and antioxidants which have been shown to add years to your life and can help prevent age-related neurodegenerative diseases like Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s disease. Coffee can also help you to  keep to a slim and healthy weight with studies showing  that coffee drinkers have lower BMI’s than those who do not partake in a daily cup. The antioxidants, and even the caffeine found in coffee can help repair cellular damage and provide anti-inflammatory activity for your cells. Keep in mind that too much caffeine can actually be dehydrating to the skin and interfere with sleep quality, cutting into your body’s time to repair and rejuvenate and prematurely aging the skin. I stick to one cup daily, always before 10:00am and always followed with a large glass of water to offset any possible diuretic effects from the coffee.

After brewing a cup of hot coffee I add a scoop of coconut butter to provide my body with the building blocks it needs to maintain youthful skin and healthy hormone function. Your skin and hormonal health both depend healthy fats, and one of my best beauty tips it to make sure you’re ingesting healthy dietary fats every single day to make sure that your body has all of the ingredients necessary to make hormones and maintain healthy skin. The subcutaneous layer of your skin is made up of fat and collagen cells, if you’re not getting enough dietary fat and collagen the tissue in this layer can begin to deteriorate, leading to sagging skin and wrinkles. I also throw a scoop of collagen into my coffee along with 2 tsp of inositol powder. Inositol is a powerful female hormone normalizer, with studies showing that can it can improve ovulation, restore blood sugar balance and prevent acne. 1 small scoop daily adds a nice sweetness to my cup of coffee while offering tons of additional hormone and beauty benefits. Collagen is one of my beauty essentials because it helps to maintain skin elasticity and prevent wrinkles. Studies show that our bodies begin to produce less collagen after age 25, which is why it’s so important to get more collagen in your daily diet in order to fight the signs of premature aging.

Here is my delicious recipe for my daily beauty coffee, one of the easiest ways you can support your natural loveliness. I drink it first thing in the morning as my breakfast before my daily workouts. The added fat from coconut butter and protein from the collagen powder helps keep me satisfied and support my metabolism throughout the morning. Enjoy, my natural beauties:

Instructions

Place all ingredients into a high-powdered blender and mix on high for 30 seconds until coffee is frothy and ingredients are well-incorporated. I like adding low-glycemic monk fruit sweetener along with a touch of almond milk for extra sweetness and creaminess - but these are totally optional.
